Telecom giant MTN had a delegation of its executives from MTN Group visit the President of Uganda HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for a briefing on their plans.
A delegation of MTN Group delegates today met the president of Uganda HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ahead of its publicly declared intention to float 20% of its shares. Earlier in the week MTN Uganda announced intention to float 20% of its shares to the Ugandan investor community for them to have a share of the profitable business.
A delegation led by MTN Group Chairman Mcebisi Jonas and the Group President Plus CEO MR. Ralph Mupita visited Museveni at State House Nakasero to brief him on the various plans they plan to undertake.
MTN Group made a commitment to President Museveni that they were going to invest 300 million dollars or 1 trillion Uganda shillings in network expansion over the next 3 years so as to increase the quality of service to Ugandans.
